Multi-body Mechanics

Vectayn use Motion Solve to allow us to calculate load cycles, motion trajectories and system dynamic behaviour. We use this to determine load inputs to our structural predictions and to give guidance to customers designing mechanisms.

The nature of rigid body mechanics allows us to quickly assess a large number of system geometries and properties, highlighting the effects of variation in gearing, travel, spring/bush stiffness and damping.

The models can be extended to include tyre and road models for ride and handling prediction, or combined with finite element models to give dynamic predictions inclusive of structural deflection.
